At the core of Mr. Taft's mission to educate the whole person lies an emphasis on
high scholarship and intellectual endeavor along with a belief that character,
above all else, determines success in life.
The Admissions Committee at Taft seeks students who are curious, who will become
involved, and who will commit themselves to a high standard of intellectual and
personal growth.
Taft's student body is composed of 300 boys and 280 girls. Students come from 34
states and 30 foreign countries. Over 1,600 candidates apply for
approximately 200 openings each year. 37% of the student body receives
financial aid from a budget of $6.76 million annually. Tuition for the 2011-12
academic year is $46,500 for boarders and $34,400 for day students. Application
deadline is January 15.
You are on the brink of fascinating and complex challenges, and nothing will be
more important to your future than your commitment to your own growth and
education. As you browse our web site and consider Taft for your secondary
school years, I wish you well.
